When: Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 9:30 AM – 12 PM
Where: Supreme Court of the United States, 1 1st St NE, Washington, District of Columbia 20002
On March 26, the Supreme Court will hear consolidated cases Common Cause v. Rucho and LWVNC v Rucho along with Maryland case, Benisek v. Lamone—potentially landmark cases that could set a nationwide precedent to end gerrymandering for good.Join us to rally for representation and for a democracy that puts voters, not gerrymandering politicians, first.
When politicians manipulate their own districts to pick their voters it denies all of us the right to a meaningful choice at the polls. These cases, one against a Republican-led gerrymander in North Carolina and one against a Democratic-led gerrymander in Maryland, demonstrate that partisan gerrymandering denies all of us our right to be represented, and that it it wrong, whichever party is drawing the lines.
Join leaders of the movement for a democracy that represents all of us (including some special guests TBA) to fight for fair districts while the Supreme Court hears these cases.
